Every year, twice a year, we recognize the DEA National Rx Drug Take Back Day event. During this event people have the opportunity to clean out their medicine cabinets to ensure proper disposal of expired or unused medications as a means of reducing physical access to prescription (Rx) drugs. Limiting and reducing access for unintended users and youth in the home inhibits and preventing attempts of opioid and Rx drug abuse/misuse. To ensure that social distancing measures are still in effect as we continue to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic, our Drug-Free Kennesaw 365 program has teamed up with the Georgia Prevention Project and the Northwest Family YMCA to host a DRIVE THRU DROP OFF!
THIS SATURDAY, OCT. 24, 2020, from 10 AM – 2 PM
MEET US AT THE NORTHWEST FAMILY YMCA!
You can drive through and drop off any unused or expired medications without having to leave your car! Even if you can’t make it out to meet us, you can still do your part by insuring that you are properly disposing of Rx drugs in your home with the use of DisposeRx at-home medication disposal packets! When you mix the powder in these packets with your medication and water, it deactivates the medicine making it safe to throw away in the trash or flush down a drain!
